Traditionally publishing to extranets has been a messy affair.  Law firms use a variety of products to support their extranet and often lawyers need to publish document to client or third party extranets.

When a lawyer publishes a document, they are always concerned about whether they are publishing the ‘correct’ document and who has access to it.  The result is that lawyers export a document from WorkSite, onto their desktop, and then publish it into the extranet.  The challenges with this approach are the multiple steps it takes, loss of audit trail, and the exported document ending up as one more item cluttering the desktop.

Milan addresses this problem by providing an explicit method for you to publish to the extranet.  A complete audit trail is preserved in WorkSite, and everything is additionally audited in Milan.   With Milan, you can publish to a WorkSite extranet based on Worksite for SharePoint or WorkSite Web.  Milan also supports the ability to publish document into a SharePoint document library and Milan can be easily extended to support other systems.
